It's the first designation for a wine region contained solely within the state of Georgia, and while the entire geographic region is comprised of 344 square miles, including Lumpkin, Dawson, White, Pickens and Cherokee counties, the vitcultural portion is approximately 133 square miles, encompassing most of Lumpkin County and part of White County.

to WSB TV, Channel 2 in Atlanta, plus the Atlanta Business Chronicle, Gainesville Times and a host of other media . 

Dahlonega is now being called the "Napa of the South" in some media circles.
