Want to try something new this Thanksgiving? Dahlonega’s newest walking tour, Savoring the Square Food Tour, offers a unique opportunity to experience both the food and culture of North Georgia. This tour will captivate you with visits to our finest restaurants and tasting rooms.
If you have several dinners to attend on Thanksgiving Day but would still love to break away from the chaos, there are opportunities to explore downtown Dahlonega the day of and weekend afterwards! The North Georgia Zoo & Petting Farm will be hosting a holiday celebration and live nativity on Friday, November 25. Bring your flashlight and join their guides as they take you on a walk through the zoo under the stars.
End the night with a stroll through downtown Dahlonega to admire the beautiful autumn colors and stop in to listen to live music at Bourbon Street Grille or Spirits Tavern.
Also kicking off the day after Thanksgiving is Dahlonega’s Old Fashioned Christmas. Old Fashioned Christmas is a month-long celebration from November 25 through December 31, 2016, set in motion with the lighting of the square. Plenty of other festive holiday events continue almost daily throughout December until after New Year's with caroling, entertainment, wine sampling, and live theater Christmas events.
