Rick Harris, an accomplished, Dahlonega-based keyboards and trumpet player, is at the core of a constantly changing lineup of special guests and drop-ins for Friday and Saturday night, and the music’s inspiration can range from Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and Dean Martin to more contemporaries like Michael Buble and jazz greats of virtually every description. It’s not uncommon for locals with hidden musical talent to spontaneously take the stage – and the microphone – to showcase their musical skills, and the audience is encouraged to join in.

While concerts on the Crimson Moon main stage usually carry a cover charge, the piano bar is free – although a tip jar informs patrons that contributions are welcome. A fully stocked bar is just a few steps from the entertainment, and an exceedingly appealing upstairs porch provides a stunning view of downtown Dahlonega.

The music generally begins at 10, although events downstairs sometimes dictate the starting time and, depending on the enthusiasm of the audience the end of the evening can vary as well. For more information, visit www.thecrimsonmoon.com
