The Fool's Gold MTB Races and Festival will join the National Ultra Endurance Series in 2008. The NUE is a series of eight 100 hundred mile races held throughout the US between April and September. The 2008 Fool's Gold 100 will be the 6th race.

About the Fool's Gold MTB Races:
Now in it's second year the Fool's Gold 100 is Georgia's first and only 100 mile mountain bike race, brought to you by the race director of the largest and most fun 24 hour mountain bike race in the Southeast, the BURN 24 Hour Challenge!
Expect lots of singletrack with a few gravel road grunts. Be prepared to ride hard..and drink a few brews. We promise, you won't be disappointed! With the low entry fee, great schwag, all of the essential amenities (i.e. food, lodging, beer) ALL WEEKEND!, and cash payout for the Open Men/Womens class in the 100 miler, we think this one will be on your race calendar for good! The Fool's Gold Races will include fully supported options of 50 and 100 miles.
About the Fool's Gold MTB Festival
You will have the option to purchase a Race-only entry, a Festival-only entry or a Race+Festival entry which will get you lodging (bunkhouses at the Race Start/Finish), hot meals and local microbrews all weekend! There are HOT SHOWERS, real bathrooms, and are three fire rings and we will build the fires!! So, just bring some friends, some chairs and stay the weekend. You should bring a sleeping bag or bed linens and pillow for the bunkhouse beds.
A detailed festival schedule will be posted as soon as possible. The following will be included: Organized rides (Beginner, Intermediate, Expert, Singlespeed, 29er), Q&A with the Pros on Friday evening, Kids Race, Bike Demos, and 29er gathering of the Southeast...there will be awards for the following: Ugliest 29er, Sexiest 29er, Blingest 29er, Lightest 29er, Oldest 29er, Best Wheelie on your 29er, and Most Creative Setup on your 29er.

Bunkhouse assignments will be first come first serve. Requests for house-mates will be honored to the best of our abilities. More to come on this. There will be SAG stops for both the 50 mile and the 100 mile race.
*Race Entry Fees cannot be refunded. $15 fee applies for transferring entries. Lodging fees can only be refunded until August 1. Entry fees listed are valid until June 1. Prices go up $10 after June 1, $20 after July 16, and $30 after August 13. Register Early! Online registration closes August 13.

Volunteers
We are in need of ten volunteers to help with running the SAG stops and/or with meals. As a volunteer, we ask for up to 8 hours of your time throughout the weekend. In exchange, you will be reimbursed for your food & lodging ($100) for the weekend, after your shift. If you have questions about being a volunteer, please email the volunteer coordinator. Sorry, racers are not eligible for one of these ten volunteer positions.
