Dahlonega Rock & Mineral Show

rock__mineral_showWhile in town for Gold Rush, come out on October 15th & 16th, 2011 to visit the Dahlonega Rock & Mineral Show. Proceeds from the show will go to raise money to preserve the Captain McDonald House. The McDonald House belonged to a Confederate Captain who fought with the Blue Ridge Rifles from Dahlonega. He was wounded near the end of the war and was not at his units surrender at Appomatox. His home is the last Confederate officer's house in the county. This fundraiser will help preserve the history behind the house for future generations.


DATE & HOURS
- The Dahlonega Rock & Mineral Show will be held on Saturday & Sunday, October 15th-16th, 2011 from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.

LOCATION
- The event will be held at The Smith House parking lot at 84 South Chestatee Street, Dahlonega, Georgia 30533. Vendors will be set up on the concrete parking lot in between The Smith House and Village Toys.

DIRECTIONS
- From GA-400 North: Turn LEFT onto GA-60/US 19 (at the "end" of 400). Continue approximately 5.5 miles. Turn LEFT into The Smith House parking lot. Turn RIGHT to go through parking lot until you get to the concrete parking lot.

GOLD RUSH DAYS
- Please keep in mind that the Dahlonega Rock & Mineral Show will be held the same weekend as the Gold Rush Days Festival (200,000+ people will be in town over the weekend). Hotel reservations must be made in advance. For lodging information, please visit www.dahlonega.org or call the Dahlonega Visitors Center at 706-864-3513.

VENDOR INFORMATION

LOAD-IN PROCEDURE
- Vendors must set up on Friday, October 14th between 12:00 pm and 6:00 pm.
- Each vendor space will be marked. Vendor spaces are 12' x 12'. Each space will be $250.
- A Rock & Mineral Show staff member will be there to assist you in finding your spot. If you need assistance on set-up day, please contact Tommy Folger at 706-973-0003.
- Vendors must remove their vehicles no later than 6:00 pm on Friday, October 14th. Downtown streets will be barricaded at this time.
- The Dahlonega Rock & Mineral Show is an outdoor show. There is no rain back-up.
- There is no electricity available; however, vendors may bring generators.

PARKING
- Vendors will not be allowed to park at The Smith House during the show.
- Additional parking will be available.

SECURITY
- The Rock & Mineral Show will have overnight security.

FOOD & BEVERAGE SALES
- Canned drinks and pre-wrapped snacks may be sold.
- No meals or sandwiches may be sold.

DISCLAIMER
- The Dahlonega Rock & Mineral Show reserves the right of refusal. Vendors with merchandise or displays deemed offensive will be asked to leave.
