Fool’s Gold Mountain Bike Race and Festival

Fool's Gold 100 is the 9th race in the National Ultra Endurance Series

The 2011 Fool's Gold 50/100 is changing venues and will now be based out of the beautiful Montaluce Winery in Dahlonega, GA. This change allows us to provide a new and better race course, more parking, and of course a great venue with excellent views and wine. Expect lots of singletrack and doubletrack with a fair dose of gravel road grunts. There are a couple of longer sustained climbs, but the rollers will probably be the ones to get you. Yes, it's August in Georgia, but in the past years we've had excellent weather..it is in the mountains, after all, with most of the course being under the trees in the shade. With the thousands of dollars in cash and prizes, racer and volunteer schwag, and post-race festivities we think this one will be on your race calendar for good!

The guys from Sweetwater Brewing Co. will again be giving a case of Sweetwater 420 to the first racer to cross the finish line at 4:20pm...this could be a good sprint to watch.

As always, the guys from Terrapin Beer will, once again, be sponsoring the Turtle Award, a case of Terrapin brew for the absolute last person to finish the entire 100 and 50 mile race. DFL never sounded so good, eh?
