Associate Dean, School of Business
NGCSU
Max Burns is the Associate Dean of the Mike Cottrell School
of Business at NGCSU. Max received a BIE from Georgia Tech and a Masters and
Ph.D. from Georgia
State.
Max was a member of the faculty at Georgia Southern until his election
to Congress in 2003. Max served in the
108th Congress and was President of the Freshman Class.
After Congress Max was
a Senior Policy Advisor for Thelen, Reid & Priest LLC where he consulted
with major US and international firms in energy, agriculture and trade policy.
Max served as Chairman Screven County Commission, as board
member of the CSRA RDC and as Chairman of GDITT’s Region 1 Advisory Council.
Max and his wife Lora have two adult sons. Max is a member
of the Dahlonega Rotary Club, officiates high school football and participates
in projects of the American Cancer Society. Max enjoys golf, fishing, and travel.
