Volunteer Coordinator
Lumpkin County Literacy Coalition
A native of Chatsworth,
Georgia, I have
lived in Dahlonega for eight years. In June of 2006, I retired from a 31-year
career of teaching high school and college English. I taught in eight different
school systems all over Georgia
and have lived in the following cities: Athens, Hamilton, Buena Vista, Baxley, Valdosta,
Statesboro, Douglas, and Richmond Hill.
My last
seven years of teaching were at Lumpkin County
High School.
I can hardly
go anywhere in Georgia
without running into a former student or colleague!
Since my retirement, I have become the Volunteer Coordinator
for Lumpkin County Literacy Coalition and have become a certified
Georgia Master Gardener. I love to read and belong to two reading groups. Another
of my loves is traveling, and my next trip will be to Boston, Massachusetts.
I also serve on the Leadership Coordination Council of Dahlonega Baptist
Church.
