I was born in Atlanta, grew
up in the area and graduated from Decatur
High School in
1960. Over the next twelve years I attended night school part-time and
worked as a draftsman for the Georgia DOT and various architectural / engineering
firms. I graduated from Southern Technical Institute with a Bachelor
degree in 1972.
In 1972 I married Connie and adopted her daughter, Lisa. Our twin boys
were born in 1974. We lived in Tucker, GA while
they were growing
up.
I went to work for Beers Construction Company in February 1973 and retired as a
Project Mnager/Group Vice President in February 1998. During my career
with Beers I had the opportunity to work on and/or manage the following
significant projects:
- Southern Bell Headquarters, Atlanta
- Kimberly Clark Complex, Roswell
- Hewlett-Packard Southeastern Headquarters, Atlanta
- Swissotel, Atlanta
- Bank of America Plaza (NationsBank Plaza),
- Atlanta
Georgia International Plaza, Atlanta
- Crowne Point, Atlanta
- IJL Financial Center, Charlotte
- Campanile, Atlanta
We moved to Dahlonega in 1998, remodeled the house, started
the Christmas tree farm and jumped right in to the rural lifestyle.
Since moving here I’ve been involved with the Lions Club, Boy Scouts, Habitat
for Humanity, NOA, the Merchants Assoc. and the Chamber.
My hobbies are woodworking, and restoring antique trucks, Farmall tractors and
farm machinery.
